Nathan Lane originally tried to be Zazu, and Ernie Sabella was trying to be the Hyenas.  
Fact two:
Many of the animators in The Lion King were worried and doubted the movie because they didn’t think people would want to watch a movie about a Lion cub who was framed for murder.
